The Historic Westside of Las Vegas is undergoing a transformative revitalization focused on education, workforce development, housing, and community investment. With more than 35 years of experience, Melvin has helped shape Southern Nevada’s civic and educational landscape and served as the design visionary behind the award-winning revitalization of the Historic Westside School. Melvin will share insights on how strategic design, public collaboration, and community-driven planning are helping transform the Historic Westside into a sustainable and thriving district for future generations.

Melvin D. Green, NCARB, NOMA, APEC, is the Co-Founder and Principal in Charge of Architectural Design and Planning at KME Architects. With over 35 years of industry-leading experience, Melvin has heavily shaped the civic, educational, and commercial landscape of Southern Nevada. As the design visionary behind the landmark revitalization of the Historic Westside School—which earned the Mayor’s Urban Design Award—he continues to spearhead the district's transformation. His current high-profile regional projects include the major Matt Kelly Elementary School Replacement Project, the multi-phase Marble Manor Redevelopment, the state-of-the-art West Las Vegas Library, the Community eCenter & Executive Offices for MYS and Sumnu Marketing, and a joint-venture collaboration on the Historic Westside Educational and Training Center.
